Games at Coleman Coliseum

The Coleman Coliseum is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of Alabama. It seats 15,000 and is primarily used by the school's NCAA Men's Basketball team, as well as the women's gymnastics teams. The women's basketball team played there until 2010, when renovations to Foster Auditorium were completed. The facility also hosts concerts and other events from time to time.

Arena History

The arena opened in 1968 as Memorial Coliseum. It was built to replace Foster Auditorium, but that facility was later renovated and is still in use today. In 1988 Memorial Coliseum was re-dedicated Coleman Coliseum to honor a prominent alumnus and Crimson Tide historian named Jefferson Coleman.

Coleman Coliseum is one of the finest college basketball arenas in the country. Many improvements have been made to the facility since it opened, including renovated locker rooms, better accessibility, and the addition of baby changing stations.
